Circuit Breakers
A circuit breaker is an automatically-operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by excess current.

Its basic function is to interrupt current flow after a fault is detected, typically resulting from an overload or short circuit. Unlike a fuse, which operates once and then must be replaced, a circuit breaker can be reset to resume normal operation.

Classifications of circuit breakers can be made based on voltage class, construction type, interrupting type, and structural features. Circuit breakers also come in a variety of sizes: from small devices that protect low-current circuits or individual household appliances, up to large switchgear designed to protect high voltage circuits feeding heavy machinery.

Eaton Series G molded case circuit breakers provide increased performance in considerably less space than standard circuit breakers or comparable fusible devices. The "G" signifies global applications: Series G circuit breakers are marked with UL, CSA, CE, IEC and KEMA KEUR listings. The Series G family includes five frame sizes in ratings from 15 to 2500 amperes. Series G offers a choice of several interrupting capacities up to 200 kA at 480 volts AC (200 kA at 240 volts AC).

Single pole and multi-pole thermal-magnetic miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) in accordance with EN 60947-2, UL 1077 and UL 489 for DIN rail mounting with toggle actuation, visual status indication and high interrupt capacity. System pro M compact S200UDC current limiting miniature circuit breakers are specially designed for DC applications in the scope of UL489. They have two different tripping mechanisms, the delayed thermal tripping mechanism for overload protection and the electromechanic tripping mechanism for short circuit protection. They are available in K and Z characteristics, 1P and 2Pconfigurations and rated currents up to 63A. The Short circuit current rating SCCR acc. UL489 is 14 kA. The S200UDC is suitable for DC voltages up to 125 VDC (2 pole). All MCBs of the product range S200UDC comply with UL489, allowing the use for commercial and industrial applications.

ASI's NDM1 series of circuit breakers is ideal for applications where high currents ranging from 50 to 125 Amps in the circuit are to be protected. They are UL 1077 recognized and can be used for supplemental protection based on the UL standard. The NDM1 miniature circuit breaker is available in single, two and three poles. Safety is insured in your high current circuits with the shock proof design of the wire terminators. The easy to see visual indication lets you know when the circuit breaker has tripped.
