The ISO Series single channel devices are used to provide a safe and reliable means of controlling loads from hazardous locations without releasing sufficient energy, under normal or abnormal conditions, to cause ignition of a flammable or combustible atmospheric mixture while in its most easily ignited concentration. An isolated output turns on when the control switch input from the hazardous location is closed. When the control switch input opens, the isolated output turns off. The style A devices come equipped with integral spring mating clips which secure the device to the base, making this unit a UL913 Intrinsically Safe plug-in. The style N, surface mounted enclosure is sealed with a high-quality epoxy resin material and has five #8-32 screw terminals.

Intrinsically Safe Relay Barriers are essential components of intrinsically safe applications.These devices limit current,voltage,& total energy delivered to a sensor or any other actuator instrument located in a hazardous area.When used in areas with hazardous chemicals,gases or other ignitable atmospheres,limiting the energy is required to prevent any possible fires & explosions from occurring.Dry contact switches can be connected to the EB3C.

Intrinsically Safe Safety Barriers are essential components of intrinsically safe applications.IDEC has combined the elements of an intrinsic barrier with those of a safety device to create the first intrinsically safe machine safety barrier.By connecting safety input devices such as emergency stop push buttons and safety interlock switches to the EB3N intrinsically safe safety barrier,in conjunction with a contactor in conformity of safety standards,both intrinsic safety and machine safety can be established simultaneously in a hazardous location.A total safety system can also be built by connecting safety control devices such as safety relay modules and safety controllers with the EB3N.
